RENÉ HERTSBERG
René Hertsberg joined S&R after receiving a J.D., cum laude, from Emory University School of Law in May 2008. While at Emory, he participated in the school's Technological Innovation: Generating Economic Results program, which is a collaboration between Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory Law School that brings Emory Law, Georgia Tech MBA and PhD students together in an interdisciplinary class to focus on both business and law principles. Mr. Hertsberg's previous legal experience includes two legal internships, one at Schulten Ward & Turner, LLP in Atlanta and the other at the Office of the State Appellate Defender, Death Penalty Trial Assistance Division in Chicago.
Mr. Hertsberg has experience representing clients in commercial and patent litigation as well as personal injury defense.
Cases in Point
- Assisted in securing a jury verdict of no liability in a $30 million litigation case against a hotel management company and hotel owner, arising out of the purchase and sale of a $101 million luxury hotel in Mexico.
- Assisted in the defense of an office furniture distributor accused of violating several patents relating to the means of shipping furniture, and secured a favorable settlement for the client.
